Workshop : Loan Negotiation and Evaluation

Rabu - Kamis, 20 - 21 Februari 2008, pukul 09:00 - 16:30 WIB
Ibis Slipi Hotel/Kartika Chandra Hotel/Harris Hotel, Jakarta

Workshop Description
The public debt portfolio is usually one of the largest financial portfolios that a government has to manage, yet, in many countries, local capacity to negotiate new borrowing adequately is still limited. In enhancing their debt management framework, countries must be equipped with the right expertise for negotiating the most favourable borrowing terms and conditions. Equally importantly, they should be able to gauge at the very outset the impact of any new borrowing on the public debt portfolio. This will greatly help in minimising potential problems later in the loan cycle resulting from poor loan negotiation and evaluation of impact and risk.

This workshop enables participants to understand the importance of loan negotiation in determining the cost of borrowing, learn about the basic principles of negotiating new borrowing and develop their skills for evaluating borrowing from different sources.
